The electrification transition is in full swing nationwide, especially in the Midwest. Design considerations to implement on-site renewable energy generation is a necessary skill set with growing energy demand stressing the grid and creating volatile energy markets. Deploying behind-the-meter solar systems to match a building's needs and reduce Scope 2 carbon emissions is not simple or complicated - it's right in between. Competencies required to assess when and how a solar photovoltaics (PV) system fits include understanding how solar will perform, the right mix of equipment, financial analysis, the funding incentives available, and the design/build process for new or existing buildings.
