The Emerging Professionals Committee is organized to address issues of importance to recent graduates and interns as well as recently licensed architects. The committee supports the needs of EPs by providing resources for the following:
AIA Dayton Lending Library
AIA Dayton has current study guide material for interns/graduates working toward taking the Architectural Registration Examination (ARE). Due to the limited quantities, the study guides and practice exams are only available to AIA Dayton Associate AIA members.
To inquire about reserving materials, contact AIA Associate Director Katie McCall.
ARE Study Groups
AIA Dayton Associate AIA members who are studying for any section of the ARE exams are invited to join the Study Group sessions held monthly at the Panera at The Greene. For the dates and times of the study sessions, contact AIA Associate Director Katie McCall.
AIA Dayton Networking Opportunities
The Emerging Professionals Committee sponsors periodic Happy Hours at interesting restaurant and brewing establishments throughout the AIA Dayton area to meet up with anyone who likes to discuss architecture and professional resources. The Happy Hours have become a good place for Associates and other Emerging Professionals to meet valuable mentors who can provide advice and lessons learned to those who are receptive. For a schedule of Happy Hours, contact AIA Associate Director Katie McCall.
